Trident Inspection Group (“Trident,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit tridentinspectiongroup.com or engage our inspection services.
This policy reflects our obligations under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website, scheduling forms, email and phone communications, and during the performance of inspection services. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we link to but do not operate.
2. SMS communications
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in — by checking the SMS consent box on one of our web forms or by otherwise agreeing to receive texts — Trident Inspection Group may send you SMS (text) messages about your inspection. This section explains exactly what we collect for SMS, how we use it, and who it is (and is not) shared with.
What information we collect for SMS. To send you text messages, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent — including the date and time you opted in (the consent timestamp). We do not need any additional personal information to operate SMS messaging.
How we use SMS. We use your phone number to send transactional and marketing text messages related to our inspection services — for example, appointment scheduling and confirmations, appointment reminders, follow-ups after an inspection, responses to quote requests, and occasional service offers. Messages are sent only to the number you provided and only after you opt in.
Who we share SMS information with. SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates. We use a messaging carrier and platform solely to deliver the texts you have agreed to receive; we do not sell, rent, or share your SMS opt-in or phone number with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.
Message frequency, rates, and how to opt out. Message frequency varies depending on your interactions with us and the status of your inspection. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. You can reply STOP to any message at any time to opt out and stop receiving texts, and you can reply HELP for help. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to work with us by phone or email, and consent to receive SMS is never a condition of purchasing any service.
3. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, postal address, IP address, and browser identifiers.
- Commercial information: services you have requested, scheduling preferences, payment records.
- Property information: the address of the property to be inspected, photos and observations recorded during inspection, and report contents.
- Internet activity:pages visited, time on site, referring URL, device type — collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and tracking”).
- Geolocation: approximate location derived from IP address; precise location only with your explicit consent (rarely needed, e.g., for technician dispatch).
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers (other than as required to process your payment via our PCI-compliant processor), driver's license numbers, or biometric information.
4. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Schedule, deliver, and document inspection services
- Communicate with you about appointments, reports, and follow-up questions
- Process payments and maintain accounting records
- Comply with legal obligations and retain records as required
- Improve our services, website, and customer experience through aggregate analytics
- With your consent, send marketing communications (newsletters, service offers) — you can unsubscribe at any time
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Data retention
We retain inspection reports and related records for at least seven (7) years to satisfy professional, regulatory, and tax recordkeeping requirements. Marketing contact information is retained until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is retained for 14 months by default.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encrypted-in-transit web traffic (HTTPS), access controls on internal systems, and PCI-compliant payment processing. No system is perfectly secure; no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
9. California (CCPA / CPRA) rights
California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell — and to receive a copy
- Delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt outof the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not engage in either, but the right exists regardless)
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide our services)
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide different quality based on your exercise of these rights

Our legal bases for processing are primarily (a) performance of a contract (when you engage us to inspect a property), (b) consent (for marketing emails), and (c) legitimate interests (operating our website and improving our services). To exercise these rights, contact info@tridentinspectiongroup.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children's privacy (COPPA)

13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted prominently on the site and, where appropriate, communicated to you directly.
